Travel tip: saving money in the perfect piggy bank
Since I'm currently saving up almost every penny I have, I don't have much to write about, except for this great money-saving-tip I have for you guys. It's called a can coin bank, and I think it's absolutely brilliant.
I know myself quite well: whenever I put money in a piggy bank, I take it out just as easily. "Oh I need some groceries, let's get some change from the piggy bank" or "I want to grab a beer, but I don't want to go and find an ATM. Let's take some cash from the piggy bank". The result? A piggy bank that only has some 10 cents and 5 cents in it. Well, that doesn't buy me a plane ticket...
The can coin bank is the perfect solution. We have two: the €500,- thingy is mine and the €10,- one is my bf's. It looks like a regular piggy bank, except you can't open this one whenever you want to. You can open it once, but you'd have to do it with a can opener. This thing is absolutely perfect when you're saving for something big. The only disadvantage I can think of is the fact that you don't have a clue of how much is in your can coin bank.
I am pretty enthusiastic about this money-saving-can. Whenever I'm going to open mine (probably a month before departure), I'll definitely buy a new one. What do you think about the can coin bank?

I agree- I always forget that I even have a piggy bank also- so nothing gets put in, but I guess nothing gets taken out either. Sigh.
